On 24-25 May, 2025 the 3rd International Conference on Kalinga and Southeast Asia: The Civilisational Connect’ was held in Bhubaneswar. Representing INTACH, Ms. Kanchana Mukhopadhyay, Co-Convenor and Coordinator of Calcutta Regional Chapter, participated in this prestigious two-day summit. Eminent dignitaries, Governor of Odisha Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, former Foreign Secretary Lalit Mansingh graced the event along with various other participants. The conference was jointly organised by the State government’s Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, Institute of Media Studies, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, and the Central Government. The summit aimed to draw global attention to Odisha’s rich civilisational legacy. Explore the deep-rooted historical, maritime and cultural ties between erstwhile ancient Kalinga i.e. modern-day Odisha and Southeast Asian nations.
