Cultural Heritage: Saving the Old, Creating New Americana Music Legacy

On 13 March, the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata in collaboration with INTACH Calcutta Chapter, organised a special presentation – ‘Preserving the Past, Composing the Future’ by Edward James Gay an American historian and songwriter at the Lincoln Hall in American Center. INTACH Calcutta Chapter Convenor Mr. G.M. Kapur felicitated Ms. Elizabeth Lee, director American Center in Kolkata, artist Edward James Gay and gave the opening speech. 

The presentation reflected on the role of Americana music as a potent expression of freedom and national identity. The evening concluded with engaging interactions between the artist and enthusiastic audience – including members of INTACH Calcutta Regional Chapter.
