On 12 July, the Oxford Bookstore hosted an insightful session on The Great Conciliator: Lal Bahadur Shastri and the Transformation of India, a newly launched book by Sanjeev Chopra a former IAS officer. INTACH Calcutta Chapter Convenor Mr. G.M. Kapur led an interactive question and answer session with Mr. Chopra on his book based on the life of (late) Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India. Enriching conversation developed as Mr. Chopra provided deep biographical insights and historical context from his extensive research on The Great Conciliator. The session brought to life the quiet strength and transformative leadership of a statesman who played a pivotal role in shaping modern India. The audience was held captive by stories of India’s former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The discourse emphasized that heritage is not just found in monuments, but in the profound legacies of the leaders and nation builders.
