World Museum Day is commemorated on or around 18th May every year. On the occasion, INTACH Calcutta Chapter organised a tour of Rabindra Bharati Museum conducted by our member and curator of the museum Dr. Baisakhi Mitra. The visit included the Light and Sound Show at the courtyard of the Jorasanko Thakurbari, ancestral home of the Tagore family in Jorasanko, North Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
The museum, Bichitra Bhavan is located within the Thakurbari, was built in 1897 by Rabindranath himself in the early 20th century colonial style.
