On 30 October, INTACH Calcutta Chapter Convenor Mr. G. M. Kapur participated in a panel discussion and spoke on the ‘Way Forward’ in The Historic Cities Series 2025 – Kolkata Edition 2.0 seminar titled, Historic Urban Landscapes – The Riverbank City: Kolkata and its Ghatscape’. The seminar was organised by the Centre for Human Settlement Planning and the Department of Architecture at Jadavpur University and supported by ICOMOS India East Zone. The WBPCB Chairman Dr. Kalyan Rudra delivered the keynote address. The interactive seminar delved on the riverine heritage and the significance of the ghats or riverbanks in the historic development of Kolkata city’s landscape.
