INTACH FilmIt Workshop 2025: Fostering Young Filmmakers

On 1 August, the INTACH Calcutta Chapter organised the annual INTACH FilmIt Workshop, with the Sri Sri Academy esteemed venue partner. This day-long training workshop brought together students and teachers from 16 schools across the city to learn the art of heritage storytelling through the lens. The event commenced with inspiring inaugural addresses by Sri Sri Academy’s Principal Ms. Gargi Banerjee and INTACH Calcutta Chapter Co-Convenor Ms. Kanchana Mukhopadhyay, both emphasized on the vital role of modern media in preserving our cultural roots. The FilmIt workshop was coordinated by INTACH HECS (Delhi) Coordinator Mr. Abhishek Das. Featuring technical training sessions led by experts Ms. Shikha Gupta and Ms. Sasha Singh from INTACH Delhi. The participants were guided through end-to-end process of creating compelling 2 to 3-minute heritage films. Students learnt the art of shooting techniques, editing skills and ways to transform local history into visual documentation. The INTACH FilmIt Workshop aims to equip the young generation with digital storytelling skills, to ensure that the region and nation’s rich heritage is actively documented for the future.
